The challenge of starting and operating a successful business does not end after the investment decision is made; this is just the end of the beginning. Many of our clients require full-time project and construction management (PM/CM) support on-the-ground.

Few companies have the resources to undertake PM/CM internally. Many companies choose Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) or Design and Construct (D&C) philosophies that minimize client interaction by choosing one company to take the full responsibility, and risk, for designing, engineering, procuring equipment and materials and constructing their manufacturing facilities. While this may minimize client effort and involvement in the process, it is often the more costly choice.

Tractus specializes in the Project and Construction Management (PM/CM) approach, which we believe to be the most cost effective and efficient way to meet your cost, schedule, quality and safety objectives. Tractus, as an independent third party, recommends the best contractors and suppliers for each technical need. A PM/CM philosophy best manages risk to budget, schedule, quality and safety.

Our PM approach involves the following:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of a procurement strategy for architects, consulting engineers, construction contractors and sub-contractors. We will undertake, identify, screen and objectively evaluate service providers, creating a short-list of the most appropriate. Tractus manages the tender review process and makes recommendations on the recommended and back-up service provider including a financial analysis and comparisons related to tenders.
  • Management of the chosen architectural firm, M&E consultants, mechanical & electrical contractors, general contractor and other third party contractors and vendors involved in the project. Tractus will manage these suppliers and vendors to ensure that your schedule, quality, safety and budget objectives are consistently met.
  • Project administration including monitoring variations; chairing and taking minutes of weekly meetings; reviewing problems throughout the course of the project; collating a comprehensive defects, or “Punch List”, at the handover of the project; and provision of weekly reports on the project.
  • Manage project cost to ensure that the project is completed on time, meeting your quality & safety expectations, within budget.
  • For clients who choose a non-PM/CM management philosophy for their projects and have minimal or no resources on-the-ground, Tractus can serve as the local client representative to ensure that all contractors and service providers are meeting the clients’ project objectives.
